Join us for a Christmas quickie – two holiday album recommendations to help get you in the spirit.

Our first selection is from timeless, golden voiced Johnny Mathis and his 1958 collection of holiday songs that spans classics like Winter Wonderland and Silent Night.

Our second pick is a soul and blues compilation from Stax records featuring greats like Albert King, Isaac Hayes and the Staple Sisters. It’s largely made up of holiday originals, some of which are pretty spicy.

Here’s the full list of album recommendations from the show:

Johnny Mathis – Merry Christmas (1958)
Various Artists – Christmas in Soulsville (2007)
